Customized ERP system
Initial situation:
WBG Pooling was faced with the challenge of finding a new ERP system that would optimally support the company’s core processes. The previous system was not specifically designed for the pooling business, which meant that many processes had to be handled manually or laboriously using Excel and other tools.
Critical key figures for business management could either not be generated at all or only with considerable manual effort. The previous approach with another external IT service provider was deadlocked, bringing the project to a standstill.
Our solution:
We developed and implemented a customized pooling ERP solution based on MS NAV. In order to be able to respond more flexibly to the needs of key users, we switched to a more agile methodology. Instead of following the waterfall approach, we chose an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) approach.
This means that the pressure for a comprehensive solution in the production system was taken off in the first release and instead the focus was placed on the most important features. A detailed training plan was drawn up and the „train the trainer“ concept was implemented and supported by ecobyte.
The impact:
Even with the first release, significant savings in process costs were realized through automated processes. Media disruptions were reduced and the need to switch between different tools was minimized.
The introduction of the ERP system went without any major problems or downtime.
Critical functions that may not have been specified or known at the start of the project were integrated into the MVP thanks to the agile approach.
